Chrome clad wheel cover removal and paint

I was wondering if anyone with the chrome clad wheel covers has removed them and either painted or powder coated your wheels? I have been trying to find some black covers but I have only run across 18" ones on ebay. My other option would be to just take the wheel off and plasti dip or vinyl spray the covers but really don't want to do that. Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated!

i doubt anyone has removed the '19 covers. there was a fella on the Ecodiesel forum that removed covers and stripped the bonding cement from the wheels. there is a ton of adhesive holding the covers to the aluminum rims.

I am very interested in this as well. I am debating having the chrome clad taken off and having them powder coated but would like to know what the wheel looks like underneath before I do.
