CD player weak signal issue.

Before I got my new North Edition I had a 2017 Big Horn for two years and this was the first vehicle in 30 years I've had without a CD player. I made sure my next one would have one. I was glad to see they were putting them back in the dash where they belong. I have the Alpine 9 speaker system with 10" sub and for a stock system, it rocks pretty good. The signal strength from satellite and from my iPhone is exceptional but the CD player is so weak it's ridiculous. Instead of the 506 watts you'd think it was more like 50 watts. Normally the CD player always gave you the strongest signal of any source. I know I'm old school even talking about CDs but I have over 1200 and have no plans of parting with them. I assume all the new Rams with CD players have this issue due to how they are connected as in not directly integrated to the head unit???

I only used my CD player a couple of times when I ran across some of my old cds and I thought mine played great. I will check on the way to work this morning again and let you know.

I know the signal strength will vary with the age of recording and the style of music on the CD but I’m still very disappointed in the lack of volume I get.

I meant to get back with you earlier. My volume is actually pretty low as well.

I know most guys probably don’t care about the low volume from the CD player because that is now the least used source for music playback. Thanks for looking into it for me .

Just a thought....

In UConnect settings, there is one to adjust the volume for the aux input jack. Could be linked somehow to the CD. It's worth trying, costs nothing ....
Thanks, I’ll look into that. Although I thought I read on a previous post about not having unconnect if you don’t have Nav which I don’t.

I do have an AUX Volume Offset option in audio settings but I cannot access it as it is grayed out. Not sure why or if that is the volume control in UConnect you were referring to?

That's what I was thinking of. If it's grayed out, it isn't tied to the CD. It will probably only un-gray when you plug something into that input jack by the USBs. It was worth checking.
