Hello, first time poster so sorry if this is in the wrong section. I had a magnaflow catback exhaust installed on my '22 1500 3.6L V6 etorque. I've noticed a loss in engine performance and the transmission takes longer to shift gears on highway. Could the muffler be defective? Or any other suggestions on what couldn't be causing the issues?

I'm not looking for opinions that a v6 doesn't need an exhaust or that in should've just gotten a hemi

Only thing that I can think of is that there is excessive back pressure for some reason, would most likely be caused by the new muffler, does it sound quieter compared to the old one?
Also remotely possible, would be damage to the truck electronics, ECM,PCM,TCM, if they welded on the exhaust system and had the ground cable connected to the truck frame and not the exhaust they were working on.

It's slightly louder than the stock. And it's full bolt on so there was no welding done

Try disconnecting the battery for half an hour or so.
That should reset the learned TCM shift points and any other adaptive drive systems memory that the truck might have. And a bunch of other stuff that will take a while to reboot and come back on line.
Beyond that, out of ideas here.

Thanks for the suggestion.
