Catalytic Converter Protection Options

I will be doing some traveling this summer and was thinking about adding some catalytic converter theft deterrent. At the high end would be the Skeerdy Cat plate for $360.00 At the low end high temperature bight colored paint and VIN scribed/etched. Would like to get some opinions.

Why would paint and having your vin on the cat stop anyone from stealing it?

More than likely paint will burn off, they get hot. VIN probably won't help, they won't see it until they cut it off. Even then, they are scrapping them illegally anyway, where the take them probably doesn't care, it only helps the cops bust them after the fact. If you are worried about it armoring is the only way.
