Posted this in another thread but thought I’d post it here to reach a wider audience.

I just tried to install the black Carven tips but the OEM clamps that are supposed to be reused don’t seem to work with the Carven tips. The flanges on the end of the Carven tips aren’t the same as the flanges on the OEM tips. Not quite as “fat” if that makes sense. And I couldn’t get the clamps to tighten enough to securely hold the Carven tips in place. Just tried one side and I’ve put the OEM tip back on because I need to run some some errands.

Anyone have any thoughts? Perhaps it’s just user error on my part? Or maybe Carven sent me the wrong tips? Maybe I should just let an exhaust shop install them? Here’s a pic of the tips that shows the flanges.

I don’t have a photo of my exact ones, but here’s and exact photo of what is installed on mine.12402D5A-0DA1-42C5-96B1-A5329E325FE6.jpeg

Those look like the ones from my 4thgen Ram..

Hmm. I guess I should call Carven to see if they sent me the wrong tips. But those in your second post, PorBoy, look like the ones I received. I think you had a shop install yours, right? Did the shop mention anything about the tips not being a perfect fit?

Yes I had my local go to shop do it and they always tell me between my Borla exhausts and those Carven tips, they are the easiest things they have yet to install.

Well, I’ve sent an email to Carven and I’ll call them Monday afternoon if I don’t get a reply back. Thanks.

Well I’ve been very happy with my Carven tips.

Good news. I tried the install again and had success. The first time around, I wasn’t pushing the clamp further enough back on the tailpipe. I did so, and the clamps tightened down just fine. A few pics.
