Hey all. First post here.

Bought a 2022 diamond black night edition with 22k miles. Quad cab. v8 no etorque. Drove it with temp tags on it and parked it for 4 months while I went to my winter home. Came home 2 days ago and it was SOAKING wet inside and reeked of mold. Took out all the seats and carpet. Still stinks. Need to wipe it and clean it. Get an ozone machine. The seats seem good and don't smell but will hit them with an upholstery steamer. Treat some rust spots on various metal brackets. I sprayed the usual places with a hose and sure enough the rear window corner driver's side let the water right in. FML.

Got the Permatex coming for the glass and the butyl tape for the light screws. Thinking I will just leave the light gasket, I think the 22 has a better one, can anyone confirm?

I was thinking of dropping the headliner and caulking the nut for the sharkfin. The headliner looks like a few screws, but I see the airbags and it has me worried.. thoughts?

And, finally, the reason for the post. The rear carpet has a sticker with this part number: 6VU971X7AA But when I look it up its $64. Other ones are like $350-500... What am I missing? The front carpet is stupid expensive too. There are so many part numbers for it. Not sure which one to get. I think the front carpet would be the same on any crew or quad truck, no? The back would be different. What about color? Are they all black?

Lastly, I have all the plastic pins and whatnot, do the carpets have the thick foam attached on the bottom already or are those separate? Mine STINK and need to go.

Thanks for any and all help. Sucks balls, I didn't even put the plates on it yet.

you can reach the nuts for the shrkfin from the brake light. i took it up and put butyl under it also. it has a foam gasket the nuts aren't the only holes that can leak on it. it's a PIA but i did it without taking the headliner down. i recommend doing it you kinda need smaller hands......

Did you replace or add sealant to the third brake like gasket when you pulled it?

did the flowable silicone thing 2 tubes and removed the foam made a new gasket from the butyl cord. i did the same to that antenna. while it was out i replaced the bulbs with quality led's from lasfit not amazon junk. BONE DRY. it's my second 5th gen. the fist one literally sprayed water from the window seal in the touchless car wash. i did the fix and never had another issue. on the second truck i got used it was not a leaker, i did the same thing the week i got it figuring it would leak eventually. everyone that gets a 5th gen should just spend the 30 bucks and about a hour to prevent water intrusion and dealing with what you are dealing with.

I have a 2019 1500 rear window right side would leak when I would go through car wash or when it would rain. Ended up being recalled. But a pain to go through the Stealership.

Got some white vinegar solution to wipe everything down. Rust inhibitor for the spots of rust. Will run the ozone machine for an hour after.

Waiting on the permatex and butyl tape. Will do the light, the screws (careful not to overtighten), and the shark fin. Then do the window itself. Probably do around the rear seat vents while I have it apart. Then after 24 hours, spray the heck out of everything with the hose to be sure.

Going to steam the seats as well just for good measure.

Just need to sort the part numbers for the carpets. Going to call BAM and allmopar tomorrow and see if I can get clear information before I order them.

removed it threw away the foam made a new gasket from the same butyl cord i used on the brake light

the dealer told me they would fix the window/replace the slider, brake gasket and take care of any consequential damage.
they lied, evidently they replaced so many when the plan changed. i brought it in they all they wanted to do was reseal the window with the cracked frame!
any damage caused from the water would have to go through ram even cleaning the stains on the headliner. i left pissed and took care of everything myself in my driveway. i would have been happy if they replaced it without a leak prone slider. i can't convey enough how much i hate a vehicle leaking water.
in my cars i've had tail lights leak, sunroofs, t-top's and now back window's.
to make it so bad in the 90's the GM dealer i was a mechanic at sent me to GM wind noise/water leak diagnosis and repair school for a week. i can't tell you how many cars i fixed water leaks at the dealer on because of that school. i thought it was a honor but it was a freaking nightmare!

look at you go!!!! it's such a issue you can get leak detection spray powder that will show any small leaks in areas you are concerned about. but the easiest cheapest thing to use is foot powder spray LOL it works the same. the water trail will wash away the powder.
but look's like you got this.
i would just clean your carpet and hang it up in the sun to let it drip dry. it will dry in a day that's how we did it back in the day replacing the carpet was rare even when it was under warrantee.

good idea.. was thinking of a moisture sensor with a phone app. stick a few in key spots and hope you never get the notification. lol

With the water damage is your BCM ok?
The truck runs fine, everything works as expected. I think I dodged that bullet. The only thing I see is the silver box under the drivers seat (not sure what it is seems to have some white moldy corrosion on it. Will brush it off and wipe gently with the white vinegar. Once the leak is solved and no more moisture, it should be ok. (knock on wood)

The carpet REEKS. The foam padding was soaked, probably for weeks/months... no idea what's growing in there. The wife has lung problems - it's just not worth it. I have a steamer, but not sure it will go through that thick carpet and foam. I have the carpets laying in the sun for two days now... they are dry, but like I said, they stink.

i get it... do what's best for your situation

that's the ANC module they are cheap used if you have to replace it.

Cleaned every inch of the inside today. Did the rust inhibitor on some of places I see surface rust. Went pretty well. Even the headliner was a breeze to clean.

Tomorrow is the fix(es) themselves and Ill do the ozone.

how do you fell about buying a used carpet?
appreciate the looking it up, but I am sure these carpets are probably similar to mine. Let me see how I do with the mopar parts places...
