Carli 2.5 commuter

@boogielander

Holy smokes CJC Offroad shows Thuren Kings...~11 months build time!!
yeap. but give them a call or email Thuren direct.

if you email chances are Don will be the one answering. He's the bossman of the company and he knows suspension and is willing to share knowledge. Feel free to ask him anything regarding suspension and pick his brain! Don is the man.

i doubt it's a icon-sourced design lol i much more inclined to believe they do their own.

Here are the parts list to save you some digging lol this one is the extended travel in the front that can get you 3"
but i highly don't recommend go full 3" because you are sacrificing a bit of travel.
i left mine at stock Fox setting and it's leveled with the carli Rebel HD rear springs.
Perfect..and I like your combo of Fox and Carli!!👍

probably me lol i covered the finding optimal setting in this post I made:
Yep, that was you👍

that was the best choice in 2022 lol
ordered my truck end of June 2022 and July 1st I put together the list and started contacting suppliers.
After July 4th all parts were ordered, accounting for all the lead time. Plan was to get the truck ready by 12/31/2022 for Alaska 2023.
Truck delivered November 2022, by Christmas basically everything was installed and I only worked on it on weekends.
Alaska 23 delayed but after ~a year of shakedown runs I only have a few camping things to iron out (primary the water and shower situation) and I'm happy lol

at some point, if I decide to keep this forever, I'll do a Thuren King setup or even custom LT. Plan is to go PW with Carli Dominator in the next few years lol

I installed the Carli Commuter kit (new version, not Fox) with TRX takeoffs on my 2019 Laramie crew cab 4x4. Meant to write a more comprehensive review, but hit me up with any questions. Got the full 2.5" or 3" in front and 1" in back. Front is stiffer, like digressive but not completely sure as I do not have any experience with other lifts, rear is softer. After about 2000 miles on the kit, I like the front a little stiffer. You can feel the road imperfections more, BUT, when there's a bump dip or obstacle you can send it and it takes the hit really well. Meaning you don't have to slow down for anything anymore. I had to use 0.25" spacers, not hub centric, but no issues with vibration and I can attest you'll want to keep the wheels as close to the upper a arms while still keeping clearance to minimize trimming. Used Mopar lift kit upper a arms. Minor work with heat gut to move fenders out of the way, but now no rubbing. Really happy with how it turned out. Got whees and tires and a full spare for $1400, glad I went with TRX takeoffs, fills up wheel well really nice.

How much space you have between control arm and tire. I have trx wheels with wildpeak at4w's. Just not sure what is the thinest spacer i can run without rub.

About 3/8" space. Here's a photo

One other note, there's 3 spring options for the rear. Mine is the non rebel (least tall) spring. Their description is accurate that this spring is for no weight in the bed. I have a folding tonneau cover and without the spare tire in the back of the bed and without a box of stuff that's about 50 lb I'm even front to rear in terms of squat. When I put the spare tire in the back and the box in the back I'm about a quarter inch low in the rear (barely noticeable, but I can tell depending how the truck is parked, Ocd I guess). I have the factory skid plates on my Laramie, and I believe it weights about 5500 lbs if that helps. So if you have a non rebel and have some stuff in the bed all the time (maybe 100-200lbs), you might want the rebel spring.

I chose a 0.25" wheel spacer because I didn't want to install new extended lug nut studs. I would say if you're going to use aftermarket a arms, they might stick out farther and you might have less clearance to the tire so 0.25" might not work, so I stuck with Mopar a arms. We'll see how long they last.
