Cargo Lights Not Working

On the cargo lights, aren't they supposed to light up when in reverse?

No. You can manually turn them on with the push button on light switch, or open your door.

Wow, I thought it did so on my 2010 Laramie and I assumed it would be the same since the cargo light appears to be a carry over from the 4th Gen but I suppose I'm wrong. I wonder why they aren't activated when in reverse, seems like it would be an added safety measure.
