So last night I was waiting for someone in a parking lot in the dark and I decided to turn off my lights while waiting but I couldn't. Even if I went to all the way off the headlights are still on

Are you sure the headlights were on Or just the led strips?

I guess the strips are part of the part of the headlights but those are always on even if the headlight is in off position and the truck is on.

Yep. Accent strips or the DRL is turned on would be my guess too. (or if you've got a Canadian truck the DRL can't be turned off without AlfaOBD or a Tazer)

Yea, is it a border crosser coming down from up north? Those illegals have their lights on all the time.

You have two different things going on when you turn the headlight switch to the off position.
1) The DRLs will come on. These are illuminated in the low beam location. If the truck is not Canadian, you can turn these off in the radio settings.
2) The signature lighting will come on. This is the upper and lower strips that people refer to as accent lights. These are on whenever the truck is on, and can not be turned off at all with any settings native to the truck. You would have to use AlfaOBD to disable the signature lighting.

ok, I guess its no big deal but thanks for the insight! If I do, whats better Tazer or AlphaOBD?

Set your parking brake first.
