I know that current speed limit shows on nav with 12" screen and you can set alerts if you go X number of mph over. This is not very useful as I don't use the full Nav screen much.....is there a way to add current speed limit to the main instrument gauge where you can see it all the time? My Porsche 911 has this and I find it very helpful to look down and see the speed limit at a glance. Thanks much!!

No but I usually use waze since I typically have that open on android auto.

I haven't seen away to do that. I know you can on the HUD.

Bummer! This seems very short sided of Ram. The tech is there, just need to follow through! Having the information in front of you where you can actually use it seems like a no brainer.....

Since there is no GPS and its gets GPS from android auto or apple car play, their would be no way. Its annoying to me too since my other vehicles had that option and my wife's Subaru does but its the downside to the GPS not being in the truck itself. Upside is you get to use Google or Waze maps always up to date from your phone.

There is GPS in the truck if you have a Nav unit. How would the builtin Nav work if there was no GPS?

Well I dont know if the higher end models have nav or GPS but my bighorn has no nav. It gets the nav from the phone. the 8" screen does not have a nav system and when Android Auto is connected its just displaying the nav from the phone. So it would make sense that the GPS is just coming from your phone. Just as if I dont plug in the USB cable, I would be using my phone in its holder as my GPS system and using google maps on the phone.

There is built in GPS for sure with my nav (12" screen w/nav)!! No need to connect to your phone. Speed limit pops up but you have to be on the main nav screen, which does not make sense as I rarely use this screen. I just want to see it in front of me in the main instrument cluster.......but, unfortunately, this does not seem possible!!

Yea, you have the 12" screen Laramie so if you have nav you must have gps but if the instrument cluster is the same, I see no option to display speed limits on there. My bighorn without nav, i see it when i go to the maps on android auto on the 8" screen. I too wish that would carry over to the dash, would be a big help.

In the HUD, I have mine set to show me my speed and the speed limit so, at a glance, I can see both easily and quickly. It doesn't give me speed alerts, but when I see the actual speed and the speed limit, that's good enough for me.

Now you tell me after I ordered, waited 6 weeks for the truck to arrive, and did not order with HUD!! You should have counseled me sooner!! 😁 I did set the speed alerts for 10 mph over and it works great.....just wish I could see the current speed limit on the dash.

Do what I do...keep it for a year and get a new one ;)

My Big Horn has Nav. It is an option so if you didn't get it, you won't have it. I have the 12" screen. You can get the 8" in Nav and no Nav options. But, I use Android auto with Waze anyway.

Honestly didn't know we had that capability and never went looking for it. I don't want to set a limit on how fast I am going...when my R7 goes off, then I'll look and slow down :)

I stumbled upon it one day and decided to put it on to see how it was. Thankfully it is logically done where it will only harass you once. If you ignore it and keep going over your set warning speed it won’t bother you again unless the speed limit changes.

I just moved so it is kinda nice as it warns me for the endless 25/35 speed limit changes I’m not familiar with. Helps me not go zooming around 40 in a 25.

Cool...where is that setting in the 12"? I may play with it tomorrow just to see what it does.

Alright, only because you have been so helpful to me today. Go to Nav then Nav settings in lower right corner, then choose speed limit. Works great and gives one warning and does not nag like, well...does not nag! Feels great teaching the master something!
