Yesterday I was backing into a parking spot and could see the curb behind me in the camera as I backed up. As the curb approached the "red zone" on the camera the vehicle stopped and wouldn't go back any further even though I still had a couple of feet before the rear tires touched the curb. Just wondering if there was an option or setting I could use to disable that in the future. I could see needing to over-ride that feature in the future.

Couple ways to do that.

1st: go slow enough so that the truck doesn't auto brake for you
2nd: Tap the rear park sensor toggle on the dash to deactivate the rear sensors
3rd: In the uconnect settings under "safety" (I think) you can disable automatic reverse braking as a feature entirely.

YUP just push down on the toggle switch to shut it off theres one for the fron and back. They look like older stereo or cassette player buttons.

I did try disabling the rear parking sensor and the truck would still not budge. It was the weirdest thing. I'll try and replicate the situation and see if the same thing happens again.

"Ready Alert Braking" is something entirely different from "Parksense Braking".

FCA: Ready Alert Braking may reduce the time required to reach full braking during emergency braking situations. It anticipates when an emergency braking situation may occur by monitoring how fast the throttle is released by the driver. The EBC will prepare the brake system for a panic stop.

I get that but when you're inching back into a parking spot and you can't go any further..that's a problem. I can totally see it if I was driving above a crawl and the ready alert braking had to engage..but that was not the case here.

I don't get what you think you get.

As long as you understand Parksense Braking is your issue, then I get it :-)

Please feel free to send us a private message if you continue to experience this, SacRebel. We would be happy to have this documented and looked into further for you!
