Can I add a front camera to my 2025 ram limited? It has the blank in the grill where the camera would go.

Nothing available yet. Not sure if we will ever be able to either.

No, you can't. And maybe never. They changed the architecture for the 2025+. If you search, you will see it's been asked many times already.

Why do you say that? My 2025 like others is geared to receive a front cam. Is the only option another awful sucker-on-the-window dashcam, after spending all that on a nice new truck?

You will never use the front camera as a dashcam. Even if you could, it would be worthless. If you don't know what I mean, then you don't know how surround view cameras work and what the display is like. Plus a low mounted camera as a dashcam is not a good idea. You want something high mounted.

You're right. I don't know and that's why I asked. To learn. I've had my 2025 for 5 minutes and surround view is not installed, so correct, I don't know what the display is like. I can only liken my experience to the dashcams I have on my 2008 Ram 1500 Hemi 5.7 Big Horn and my 2014 Ram 1500 Hemi 5.7 Big Horn.

The front camera has about as much distance view as the rear camera. Neither are suited for dashcam. It's better to have a view around the level of your eyes. It gives a better view with a much further distance. It let's you see over other vehicles where the front and rear cameras don't. And if you are using a dashcam for legal footage, the better view will help.
