Can anyone please let me know the part number for the correct wiring harness that will allow me to connect a live camera inside my horse box to the dash Aux camera view so that I can monitor the horse while towing. I am not referring to a trailer mounted reversing camera but rather a camera inside the trailer (so it needs to have a feed constantly, not just in reverse). I would also appreciate some pointers on which of the 4 connectors at the back of my RAM Tungsten would be the correct one to use?IMG_6492.jpegIMG_6496.jpeg

You are missing a pic of the 5th major connector...the big black square one under your bumper! Have you considered using that one for your camera feed? Show us a photo of your horse box.

I have no idea what you mean by this?? The only “big black square one under my bumper” is the tow hitch bar. My trailer is not where I am, so can’t send photo, but it’s largely irrelevant. I plan to splice the camera line into the wiring harness - what I need is the “male end” that plugs into the appropriate connector on my truckIMG_6499.jpeg

If you look at your photos that you posted of the 4 connectors on your bumper, you will see diagrams and depictions of precisely what each connection is used for. Look closely. If you have ever towed a trailer with lights, and I suspect your horse box (which in the USA is not a horse trailer but a box van converted to carry horses), even if it is only one of the connections being your 4 pin or 7 pin, you must have plugged one of those connection in so you would know to eliminate at least one or two of the 4 connections you asked about.

Beyond that, if you performed a perfunctory search on this forum before posting your query, you would find several threads discussing how to do what you want to do and a parts list of what is needed to complete the task.

Hi Skater.
I have scoured these forums several times and I am unable to find the answer that RobbyG is seeking. In addition, I have contacted 5 local RAM dealer parts departments and they all seem stumped that there is even a camera port on the bumper. I have pulled several trailers for thousands of KMs, but this is my first truck with a plug on the back that indicates a rear view camera can be "Simply" plugged in. Meaning, no wiring on the truck side, only on the trailer side.
Maybe you could be a kind soul and help link RobbyG and I to the Mopar PN that has a camera kit that simply plugs in to the the upper left port from the license plate.
My Ultimate goal would be to source only the plug that fits to that port, but no luck as of yet. Any positive help would be appreciated.

Hi Skater.
Thanks for the quick reply. It's NOT what I (we) am looking for.
You have kindly provided the 360 camera setup that displays through the U-Connect with multiple cameras.
I am looking for a single camera that displays through the Rear view mirror. It provides a rear view from the back of the trailer while driving. Can also assist in backing up.
Respectfully, -ru4_it

That does not exist, as far as I am aware. Your first post requested information on the camera connector on your rear bumper, and your subsequent posts requested information on what can be connected to that connector. I provided that information and links.

There is no external camera that can be connected through the wiring harness to show a camera rear view of a trailer through the rear view mirror on a Ram. I do not believe even Chevy, GMC or Ford have that option. Their trailer cameras are also displayed on their consoles, not their rear view mirrors.

Skater sorry but I believe you are mistaken;
the plug shown in the bumper is for a single remote camera, ie. trailer camera.
I think this may be the desired kit, but I won't swear to it.

And this would be a complete kit;

Can you replace the view from the top of the cab over the bed with a view from behind the trailer with that kit on the Rear View Mirror in a Ram 1500? That is what he is looking for. I have never seen that before. If this kit does it, I am incorrect and glad to learn of the existence of such an item.
