I'd personally shy away from a buy back. That means the dealer wasn't able to fix it in a reasonable number of visits. Usually they are electrical gremlins in modern cars that lead to buy backs.

Thank you for your quick response ..it is stated that pin 1 was replaced in xy400a connected and was tested and deemed fixed..idk I’m hesitant but savings is really good

12k miles is very low, I would not be afraid to purchase a buy back with plenty of warranty included, unless that you hate the dealership and can’t get along with them, that could be an issue specifically if there are no other dealerships near you.
I bought 9 of 10 new FCA/Stellantis vehicles since 1994, the only second hand one was a 2012 Dodge Caliber, it was only a few months used with 4K on it, the AC failed shortly after purchase and was repaired under warranty.

Good luck

Yes, this is a 2021 ram limited. It will have eight years of full bumper-to-bumper warranty through Mopar. That’s the only reason why I would feel comfortable with buying it ,but I’m buying it from a dealership in another state so I wouldn’t be able to service it through them not sure if that’s gonna be a major issue or not.. and I don’t want to have an inconvenience of having the vehicle at the dealership all the time I know it’s a risk but I think it will save me a couple thousand dollars minimum

I don’t think they fixed a fuel gauge issue by repairing the right rear fog lamp circuit, which probably isn’t present on that truck anyway…

I’m sure they probably just typed in the wrong pin # on the writeup, because there are fuel level sensor wires in that connector:

Either way, if that was the only issue for the buyback, and you like the price, I wouldn’t let that stop me from buying it.

12k on a '21 is not very low, it's average.

I probably wouldn't even look at a buy back vehicle. The potential headaches wouldn't be worth the savings for me.

I wouldn't necessarily be any more afraid of the buy-back purchase than a brand new truck.
It's not like all new Rams are problem-free. It's a gamble either way, just minimize your risks.
All problems have causes. Do you think this problem's cause has been identified and resolved?
If so, I'd say go for it!

I'm hesitant of buying anything low miles, less than a year or two old.

I wouldn't walk away, I would run away screaming from that truck! It looks like there are (were) a ton of electrical issues!

Aside from the fuel gauge issue, nothing out of the ordinary there. Radio issue with radio replacement- that runs rampant on any number of these new trucks anyway.
Couple of maintenance item checkups and a PCM flash (most likely just a TSB update), so no big deal there.
Original dealership replaced fuel pump, that didn’t fix the issue. Then, looks the dealer that bought it took the time to hunt down the faulty circuit and repair it.
Does the fuel gauge work now? If so, I don’t see anything wrong with grabbing it.

I'd avoid buying any buy-back unless I have personal knowledge of what happened. In this example I see white out was used to change what was written. I'm highly suspicious of any document on which white out was used. Not to mention the other issues that were addressed on that truck. I'd walk on this deal, but like I already said, I probably wouldn't have considered buying it in the first place.

I feel like buying a lemon is just asking for headaches. Hope it’s a great price.

I had two vehicles that were buy backs in the past that the new owner probably had no issues with. I mentioned before about my 2015 Charger Scat Pack that FCA bought back/exchanged due to being in service for 34 days. The issue was one they couldn't figure out and they finally did, but after I already accepted the offer to replace the car. They did fix the issue. It was such a simple thing that everybody was expecting something high tech and it wasn't. Whoever bought that car got a good car.

My second car was a Mustang GT that got paint damage while on the dealer lot. They repainted the entire car, correctly, which took a long time. They removed windows, door handles, grilles, etc. Unfortunately, Ford has issues with paint adhering to their aluminum hood on the Mustangs, so they bought the car back so I wouldn't have to deal with a long service visit to fix the paint again. Whoever bought the car got a nice car and I'm sure the chips that caused the buyback were addressed by the dealer and the new owner got a car with touched up paint chips, like most used cars.

Both of those issues got me out of the car due to time in service, but neither event was bad enough for a new owner to have issues.
