Just wondering if anyone else has had the same issue. I have a 2021 1500 Big Horn, and the breaks are worn out with only 33,000 KM (20,500 Miles). This I find odd considering with my older 2016 1500 ECODiesel i didn't have to change them unto 90,000KM (56,000 Miles) and they weren't completely gone then.

Any idea whats going on.

Also the dealer wants $2,700 CAD to replace them. Thats just pads and rotors.

That’s crazy. Every front brake job I ever did on a new vehicle didn’t come till at least 60,000 miles. My last two RAM’s made it to almost 80,000 miles. Catch it early and can be done for the price of pads only. Rotors have always been good to reuse. Smooth and no warping. Zero issues.

Welp, them's the "brakes".

20k is absurdly soon to have worn out a set of brake pads. Were you doing a lot of heavy towing in hilly areas with steep descents in those miles? Maybe repetetively towing something with defective trailer brakes?

Worn out? Working on these I haven't seen very many with worn out pads, rusted rotors yes but definitely not at that mileage. Get a 2nd opinion.

That is nuts. I am at 80K plus km and my pads are fine. Get a second opinion or pop a wheel and have a look-see.
Sounds like someone is trying to milk you IMO. And for 2,700 CDN ...NO!

Is this just the dealer saying they are worn out, or did you verify yourself?

Personally, I would be glad that the breaks are all worn out. I mean why would you want your truck to keep breaking? Mine has been great. 21k and nothing has broken. I did rework the seat padding for more comfort and support. No problem with it breaking down anywhere though.

Even my brakes are holding up well. My brakes will wear faster than many peoples brakes. The oversized tires put more stress on the brakes but not enough to break them. Even with hard braking the brakes look like they are just well broken in and won't break soon.

Give me a break, I am out of brake talk. 😄
