So last Friday, I bought my new 2019 Ram Longhorn 4x4 with the Off road Package and 12" Nav. Got a great deal on it, ($44,226. before taxes, reg, etc). I knew that it must have been sitting on the lot for a while before I bought it (the build date was 6/18 so a full year!), but overall the truck was exactly what I was looking for - it had all the packages I wanted for a great price.
I've been driving it all the weekend - loving it. And then I decide to get into my bed to look into replacing the halogen lights on the back of the cab (only lights that aren't LED?) and I see it.... a big gap, about 1/4" wide, 2 1/2" in length, of missing paint.
I also found a couple of dings between the driver window and windshield too - They are hard to see and I mistook them for reflection at first.
The truck was never fully detailed when I got it due to a thunderstorm, so now that it's cleaned been up a bit, I'm seeing all kinds of tiny scratches here and there (none really visible to the casual driver, excuse my OCD)
The dealer is going to pick it up tomorrow from my workplace to repair these... but here's the thing - he says it will only take a day.... Shouldn't paint repairs take longer than that? I'm worried that they are just going to slap some nail polish on it and call it a day... I still love the truck... at the end of the day, it is an off-road truck and it will eventually get dinged up and scratched... It's just that *I* wanted to be the one to do the scratching. It certainly has knocked some wind out of my satisfaction sail.
What would you do in this position? Any of you ever been in this situation before? Any suggestions?
