Finally bit the bullet and drilled a hole in the bumper. Looks great.

You could have mount to the lower black plastic panel right under the metal bumper, well as long as you like it that's all matter.

Thought about it, but I'm old and leaning down that far to see the plug orientation seemed like it would irritating.
