How the heck do I reach that thing? I’d have to remove the front wheel and wheel well liner

Crawl under the truck…you’ll need to do it anyway to route the cord to the bumper area…and tie it down properly along the way.

I just did mine. Turn the wheels to the left, easy reach in. Remove the rubber plug and install the cable.

You’ll still need to get underneath to route the cord and tie-wrap it as he described…

No you don't. Easy to do from above. Cable comes with the four OEM clamps, all done from above. The OEM routing goes straight up. I installed mine Sunday three days ago. It was a breeze.

Did you purchase the short cable from the dealer or the longer cable from Katz or Geno’s?

I did buy the OEM cable, not from the dealer, I have a parts source that's gives me great prices

And I believe that is the difference. The OEM cord is shorter than the Katz/Geno’s cord thus it only routes up to an area next to the air filter housing…correct?

I am not familiar with Katz/Geno. The OEM cable is shorter. About 3 feet. In this case that's what I wanted. I routed it straight up. I will create a T connection there. I have a sealed male outlet I will hide in the spoiler to plug in to the outlet. I also intend to split off a connection that goes to an outlet inside the cab. (Through the firewall) I will keep a space heather in there so both engine and cab is heated.
Not so common here since the winters are mild and short. (I live in Michigan) But I grow up in Sweden and most cars had this configuration installed. Most parking spots also has an outlet to plug into.

My '21 was built 9/21/21 and I can confirm I do not have the block heater installed. I can see the brass plug right where it is supposed to go through the passenger side wheel well. I live in Las Vegas, so I won't really need it but it would have been nice to have installed from the factory for my winter trips to UT.
