Blind spot monitoring

Mine is very intermittent as well -- spoke with service manager and he suggested the same -- bring in when the code is active and they can scan it while before it cycles off.

My blind spot seems to get worse. It takes out Auto Emergency Braking as well and Hands Free driving assist. When it shuts off, it turns on the indicators in the side mirrors and they are so bright that you cannot see well at night and could easily miss a car in your blind spot, which is ironic. It is an accident waiting to happen.

Mine got worse over the weekend. Not my Active Driving Assist (non active driving) is not working as well. I have adapted cruise, but not the ability to steer the truck wih hands on the wheel. I have had it now enter a controlled stop mode where it says coming to a controlled stop in the road twice, but thankfully it has not done this yet.

Also having issues with parksense not being available. Again another intermittent problem. Not sure if this is related

All of these issues are intermittent, and I got the dreaded dealer could not duplicate response from service which is very frustrating. Does this not leave some kind of fault code that they can check to diagnose? Since mine is getting a lot more frequent (happens every other day seems like - although has hit me last 4 days every day), I am hoping that they actually can duplicate. Best case is I drive it to the dealer when disabled, but I am worried that they shut the truck off and it goes away. My hope right now is that it degrades to the point that it happens more frequently and they can duplicate it. My cell phone pictures of over a dozen incidents are not sufficient for some reason.

Duckin - I am hoping that you have some luck and can find some information that helps.

Joe, I just had mine serviced yesterday. Here's what they did:

"A proxy alignment and module reset after they reconfigured modules, they did two radio resets and then did a reconfigure reset. They cleared the codes, did another proxy alignment, cleared codes again and did a test drive. They also did an update for the radio to U35.26. They also checked for loose connections."

Some of the above might be a bit garbled as I was basically copying word for word from the service report. So far mine has been fine since yesterday, but it's also pretty early after the adjustments. If I don't report back again, it's because it's fixed, but I'm not completely certain it is as of yet, time will tell.

For my symptoms, I would get the auto emergency braking limited functionality alert, and then the blind spot alert. This would disable the hands free auto lane keep, but still allowed for the hands on the steering wheel auto lane keep. This means that the truck would still drive itself as long as I kept my hand on the steering wheel, but wouldn't allow for hands free.

If you want to disable the blind spot lights you have to disable the auto lane keep, then go to settings and disable blind spot alerts, however that stops you from having any auto driving abilities.

Twice my truck had the error lights on the dash for these not working, not just a message, when the lights are on, this disables all cruise controls. If you're just driving around town, not a big deal, but this happened once to me on a long distance road trip as well.

I also had a couple vehicle health reports that got emailed to me with the blind spot alert not working and saying I needed to setup a service with the dealer.

I'd advise to drive it to the dealer when it's reporting the errors. Mine would typically report the error most any time I drove it, but there were a couple of times that I would drive it for long distances without it showing up, it was very inconsistent.

I am taking my truck in tomorrow to get it fixed. I will definitely mention the fix that you outline above. We seem to have the exact same issue from your description.

Unfortunately mine is not fixed, it was fine yesterday, but on my drive in to work this morning the Auto emergency braking (AEB) and blind spot alert went off again, so I'm waiting to hear back from the dealership.

Update on mine, took the truck back to the dealership, they've now ordered a new radio system for the truck, should be to the dealership in a week or so and will then get it installed. Hopefully that fixes it, we shall see. Supposedly the radio unit houses a lot of the computer power for the truck.

I have a 2025 Warlock, 2,500 miles on it so far. Amazing truck and love the new Straight Six!! and have been having the same issue for almost 1,000 miles now. Took it in and mine was covered by dirt and mud. I do have to drive down some dirt roads and depending on the rains, they do get muddy. Apparently the module is inside the bumper and not very protected from the elements. Waiting to hear back from the advisor as they are initially saying it’s not covered by the warranty.

I guess the off road Warlock package from RAM, is meant to just look off-road! No driving down dirt roads

I will be very upset if they don’t cover it. I also will need to figure out ways to protect that as I cannot avoid those roads. Funny, my last trucks a F350 and Chevy 2500 nor my wife’s Subaru Outback or Kia telluride has any issues like this on the same roads traveled!

We shall see how this gets handled.

Are they saying the cleaning off of the mud isn't covered, or fixing/protecting the module isn't covered?

For mine they supposedly checked the connections the first time it was in for service. I get mine washed often, but if the module isn't protected within the bumper, that could definitely be an issue.

I’m the same as you, luckily they built a very nice quality car wash near me. I have a monthly unlimited membership for myself and the family and I use it daily. If not every other day. I like to have a clean car when I show up a client‘s homes my job doesn’t tell me to drive down dirt road so I’m gonna have to figure out a fix for this for sure! They’re saying the dirt mud and water apparently got into the unit and that’s what caused it to go bad. Looking at the photos it appears there’s just a small amount of a fabric covering it but it’s pretty wide open. Surprise ram didn’t catch this in their testing before they released it. Also surprised I don’t see more of this on the forms with it being an issue.

It appears there’s some type of fabric that’s partially covering the bottom as you can see it in the photo they sent me. I honestly didn’t look under the bumper because the display kept telling me to clean off the back of the brake light. When I get the truck back, I’ll definitely get under there and take a look and see what I can come up with. Wondering if a good protectant film spray would help as well once I replace the part. But I feel like that should be covered on the back of the bumper.

I'd say push back on them, or go to another dealer or try to get RAM cares involved, if that's still a thing? 1-866-RAM-INFO Unless you are doing major off-roading or going bumper deep into a mud pile, that's a place that no one is going to see/clean regularly. I'll have to check my bumper to see how mine looks.

There's no reason for them to not cover this, and that thing should be fully water/mud proof if it's located in an area that is undoubtedly going to get dirty/wet.

I get my truck washed pretty regularly with an unlimited wash package as well. My 21 1500 had no issues like this, but could be a new placement of this module from the previous truck.

I did, I don’t know if that’s the exact same number, but I went to Rams website and started a chat and then they connected me with someone. They’re looking into it and they’re gonna get back to me in one to two business days. I really hope they stand up for their product!

I think in the past, it was behind the tail light assemblies.

Well I heard back from RAM. They said it will not be covered. Per warranty, if damage is caused by elements such as dirt, dust and mud, they do not cover it.

So my 4x4 off-road (Warlock) package truck, isn’t covered for damage caused by driving down a dirt road or muddy road!! Very surprising and very surprised still that they installed these modules in the rear bumper with no shroud or cover to protect them.

I plan to find a way to install some type of protective barrier once I get the truck back. I also plan to check it from time to time for buildup. Like I stated before, I was just driving down dirt roads after rain. Yes I had to drive through sections of mud, but these are streets to get to clients houses, not out mudding or in anything of depth.

So I will pay the $829 for parts, labor and re programming and hopefully figure out a way to protect it better than RAM did
