Black badges-are they painted or black plastic

Hi all, this truck has 2200 kms on it and I noticed the black badges are peeling and showing chrome. Bought the truck at 200kms and so specifically ordered the black package. Obviously I’m goin into the dealership Monday but am curious if anyone else has had this issue? Or worse, did they pull a fast one on me and plastidip the existing badges?

I have a little over 7000 miles on my Laramie Black and the badges have not started peeling.

I think plastidip should be pretty easy to see. Normally leaves a orange peel type texture that should be visible close up. Edges are not normally as sharp as they were originally either. Is that chrome showing underneath? The OEM Mopar black plastic badges I am currently swapping my chrome ones for appear to be solid molded plastic... as in there should be no other colors underneath what would be the top or outer layer.

Side note, do you know what kind of leveling/lift kit you have and what the tire size/offset is? Really like your setup!

maybe your dealer had them painted before you to delivery of the truck, what does you window sticker say/ does it show the black appearance group?

My black badges are still as black as when I got them almost two years ago.
