Bilstein 5100 ride quality vs ring position

I had the Bilstein 5100s installed on my 2020 Laramie (non-ORP) a couple weeks back. I had them set on #4 and honestly the truck is pretty level at that height (looks pretty awesome actually). However I'm not a fan of the ride as it feels too bouncy / lack of solid control to me....especially when I add weight to the back of the truck.

I'm considering biting the bullet and having the the 5100s set at either #2 or #3 to bring the front back down a little. My question....what do you think the ride difference would be when adjusting the 5100s down? Broader example may be, how would the 5100 feel on #7 vs #2 on the same truck? I'm thinking some level of steering control and less bounce would be noticed?

I hate the thought of spending the money again to have then uninstalled and reinstalled....not to mention, another alignment.

What do you mean by "bouncy" ... like dribbling a basketball really close to the floor, or a floating bounce, like dribbling the baskeball up high? lol ... terrible analogy I know.

Is it hopping now on a bump ... more harsh than factory?

Actually not a bad analogy.! More like dribble up high where I don't feel the front is as controlled. If it was just more 'stiff' (dribble down low) I really wouldn't mind. Biting the bullet and bringing it in today to have it brought down. Again, it's only on #4 but feels too high.

I am wondering if the original shop installed the inside sleeve, the spring seat adapter, upside down. You really can't see it since the outer sleeve covers it.

Can you get a pic that's from the ground looking up the shock at the bottom of the spring seat adapter? You might be able to tell from that angle if it is installed correctly. Seems that if it was incorrect the internal sleeve would be sticking out of the bottom of the spring seat

I installed my set of 5100's myself, so I can sympathize in being unsure as to whether the shop did it correctly or not. But here are 2 pictures I took of mine, which hopefully can hopefully help determine whether the Spring Seat, and the Spring Seat Adapter have been installed correctly.

Also for reference, I'm on #4 as well. Although my rear springs have a 1.5" spacer kit on them.

Thank you!

Here are a couple pics. I slid a pick up to feel the ring. It is on #4.

The circlip and your spring seat adapter look flush, so it would appear that it is installed correctly by looking at it. Unfortunately I don't have any user experience in different ride qualities with regard to different settings. I'll be curious to hear whether you notice any change as you drop to a lower setting...although I haven't had any complaints on #4 with mine.
