Biggest rim/tire combo for a 2/4 lowering kit

Right now my truck is on 20x12 rims with a -44 offset with 33s. I really love the wide profile these rims offer. However, I would really like to lower the truck. Does anyone know the widest rim I can run on a 2/4 lowering kit? I'm okay with taking the fender well liners out.

Is the truck 2wd or 4wd because that will be a height difference and affect what wheels to run.
