Best wheel offset?

What is the best wheel offset if you don’t want them sticking way out? A little more even with the fenders is more the look I’m after. I have the factory 22”s but may go to a 20”

I like the look of my 305/60R18 on +1 offset wheels. They are basically flush with the top of the fender flares.

275 width tires on -18 offset would have a very similar look (they’d be 4mm, or about 1/6” further out).
