Have a 2025 Ram Rebel bought new in January 2025. No problems until a few weeks ago when didn't drive it for about 5 days and went to start it and batteries were completely dead (both main and the smaller battery next to the main battery). Had both checked and completely charged at local auto store and was told both batteries were fine. Put both back in and couldn't start the Ram--got a "transmission service" message. Of course calling the dealer service dept. didn't help at all--just told "need to bring it in." Ended up having it towed to the dealer where they stated a transmission module went bad which caused all the problems. (That's all I know--don't know if there's more than 1 transmission module or if that is even the correct term but that's what they told me.) They also said that's what drained the batteries and that they checked both batteries and both were good. (Ended up not having the vehicle for about a week and a 1/2--which needless to say really sucks.) Have put less than 250 miles on it since--haven't started it for at least 3 days and same thing happened. Was getting the "transmission service" message again. I put a battery quick charger on and it actually started this time. This is a second vehicle and doesn't get used much--I have gone a month or more not driving or starting it at least twice and had no problems starting it after it just sitting with no battery tender, etc. So I guess my question is what the heck? Can a battery be bad but still register as good? Has anyone else had any problems like this?
