Was looking at my window sticker from my Laramie I purchased in Jan 22, and compared to a Laramie on the lot. Saw the base price is up $900 and motor is up $500…mine is second picture.

Good observation. This must have been quite recent as for some stupid reason I check the potential build on my truck almost monthly and monitor changes and price increases. This is the biggest change in a year by far. I bought my truck a year ago today and the MSRP is 7.92% higher as of today. Other than inflation and supply issues I think the manufacturers have finally figured out they need to get a piece of the startling higher prices many dealers are charging.

In all honesty I know I would not have paid that much for a truck, even though the truck I have is amazing. Prior to my current Ram the last truck (not really a truck) I purchased was a Nissan Frontier 4x4 for 22k in 2008. This one cost me 51k in 2021. And I thought that was crazy expensive!

I wonder where we will be in March of 2023? I pride myself on being a futuristic thinker, but the past few years have shown me that in the words of Sergeant Shultz (for you older folks like me) “I NO NOTHING!”

I'd hate to see what I would pay today for mine. I have a 2019 Hemi 4WD Crew Cab Bighorn with level 2 group, north pkg, trailer tow pkg, buckets & upgraded paint (I had to pull out my sticker to remember all this stuff) for a sticker of 49,875, and I paid $36750 in Jan 2019. I guess I could go online and try to build the same truck more or less to see, but I'm guessing that since the dealership wanted to give me $42k for my truck it would probably cost me close to $50k to buy the same truck again with sticker being maybe 55.

My 2019 Bighorn was 49865, ended up paying around 41 or a little less. I did the same build for a 2022 and the MSRP was up over 54. The 41K for the 2019 was with 5K rebate from Ram.

Building a 2022 and adding a few things brings me closer to 56K MSRP and do not enjoy the thought of going through the process of negotiating prices from dealerships.

Same here, I think there was something like 6500 rebate, I got another thousand off from USAA and 250 from Allstate, and the rest I negotiated. Different time, there were dozens of trucks on the lot and January is pretty slow in the car business. I only have 24k on my truck so I wouldn't expect to be doing this again for another 20 years, if I even want or need a truck by the time I'm that age 😂

There is one here on the lot that has a Jan 2022 build date. the HEMI went to 2795 (from 2295)
Night edition went from 2100 to 2300.
Level 2 equipment pkg went from 2500 to 2705.

OUCH!

you're not going to see anywhere near 6500 in rebates today. Maybe 3,000 on a BigHorn. Less on other trims.

In June or July of 2019 was Truck Month and I got $20,000.00 off my limited PLUS traded in my 2009 Crew Cab. Ended up walking out of the dealer with a new fully loaded Limited for under 40k. That will NEVER happen again.

That's true, I only got $12,000 off my 21 longhorn in May of last year, but I also got about $8500 more for my trade in than it should have been worth due to the inflated market. I don't know where things will go from here but if you play your cards right you can still do pretty well, providing you have a good trade in.
