I'm currently running these @ -18mm and for some reasons everytime I Bring these in to get balance every shop I go to tend to make the same mistake of putting the weights right next to/near the caliper and not considering that it may not clear via loads and etc. Usually the weight just get kick out and I bring it right back for me to rebalance, the other day however I think one of the weight got caught in the caliper and it left a scratch mark on the inner part of the wheel. Most of the time they gotta stick the weight on the outer part of the wheel (example in pic) which I don't mind but I heard by sticking it towards the front it can still be thrown off balance a bit. Any tips ? Or should I just upgrade to 20s lol.

How close are the rims clearnce to the caliper? Every car is different its hard to take into account how close the caliper is to the rim. That's usually the last thing a tech would think about, they just want to get the tire/rim balanced. If they didn't rub or fly off after the tech drove it chances are they won't look. You could upgrade to 20s I have heard very few 18s fit the ram 1500s. Mention it before you get them balanced. When I was a mechanic, If someone brought that up or asked I definitely would look at it or compensate for it. Usually the sticky weights go on the outer part of the wheel and on the inside part of wheel. Just like the old pound on weights would go on the outer lip and inner lip of the rim. Otherwise I have seen them ran straight down the middle. Although if the clearance is too tight, it wouldn't matter how hard they try to compensate for it.
