Not strictly a new member, but after 2.5 years driving a (cough, cough) Silverado 2.7L turbo, I'm very glad to be back in a RAM! Wanted to share a pic of my new ride :)

This is my 2025 Base Tradesman with 3.6L Pentastar V6. The only factory options are Hydro Blue and 3.55 rear axle. I needed a 6 seater and wanted Hydro Blue, so this was what I ended up with after searching around dealers. I can't believe how nice even the base model of these trucks are now! The interior is so well appointed (WAY better than the outdated '22 Silverado Custom interior I had) and has everything I need. Of note, I really like the "work grade" vinyl seats a lot more than I thought I would - they are super comfortable, not overly hot from experience so far, and look great. Mods I have done are:

* Swapped the stock steel wheels for 20" Bighorn Black Wheels w/white outline 275/55/20 tires
* Gatorback HD mudflaps front and rear (these were dealer installed)
* iBoard (IPS) black aluminum running boards (these are great and only $279 CAD - an absolute bargain IMHO)
* Black series tri-fold soft tonneau cover
* APS black bug deflector
* PPF on the front and rear black bumpers, and 24" hood line

Congrats and Welcome back!! Curious, thoughts on the Silverado with small engine...
Thank you!

A few thoughts on the 2.7L.... Great low down torque for sure, but I had long term concerns for how stressed that engine was as was seemingly under constant boost. My truck was burning around 1qt of oil every 1000 miles, which GM told me was "normal".... No thank you GM... I want a truck that will last me 200-300k easily, so I dumped the 2.7 turbo after the oil consumption issues, and went back to the naturally aspirated 3.6L in my new Ram :) love it so far.

Sure, the Pentastar 3.6 doesn't have the torque of the 2.7 turbo, but this is my daily driver and I only really tow my 3000lb boat a few times a year so suits my needs much better. So far, in town mileage on the 3.6 is around 10% better also!

That's crazy 1 Qt every 1k miles. I was wondering, such a small motor for a truck. I think.
