It's been a while for sure. I had a few Dodge/Rams over the years but last one was back in 2009. Since then, been building several Fords and Toyotas, and even a recent Titan (all great trucks); I build my vehicles to serve as daily drivers and weekend off-roaders as I actually take my trucks off-road for high desert trail/dune runs and over 12,000 ft. mountain passes in northern New Mexico and southern Colorado (no mall poser here). I am not a fan boy of any manufacturer or model so I have had them all from all sorts of Jeeps to Dodge/Rams, Chevys, Fords, Toyotas, Nissans, Range Rovers and others as I purchase what I think will suite my needs at the time. Also had numerous sports cars such as Corvettes, Camaros, M3s, F-Types, and others. All of them, including my Dodge/Rams, have had their share of pros and cons but I just love vehicles in general and had fun with all of them!

Initially, I was going to purchase a new Ford Raptor (great truck too) but eventually decided it was not worth the $70K+ asking price with its dated hard plastic interior (the twin-turbo V6 was pretty good and I had owned a couple of EcoBoost trucks that were fun to drive but the engine noise is a bit of a letdown considering the performance you get). I liked the new Chevy/GMC AT4 offerings with the 6.2L V8, but again got turned off by the interiors. I also considered going back to a Toyota Tundra (which my 2015 1794 Edition was my most successful build to date) but the 2020 models are still so 2007 inside and out; it is amazing that the Toyota dealerships think their outdated models are still the bomb. So I moved on to the 2020 Ram Power Wagon that I thought would be the end all but was disappointed with the street ride quality (although I know it would have been the ultimate truck for off-roading). So opted for the Ram Rebel instead and I have to say that I am finally very happy with my decision; went fully loaded with the Hemi V8, Level 2 Package, Rebel 12 Package, Dual Pane Panoramic Sunroof Package, Tow Package, Spray-on Bedliner, and more:

My last Ram (2009 Ram Laramie1500);

My new Ram (2020 Rebel 4x4 1500);

Modifications will be minimal for now although I already ordered a new suspension to better suite my off-road needs as well as an ARE topper.
Glad to be back in the Ram fold and will be posting my build thread as I go.

Congrats and welcome back to the club. If you are within 60 days of purchase go grab this extra rebate.

Make sure you go file for this additional rebate. Do it within 60 days of purchase.

The only qualification is that “someone in your household” must have a non-FCA vehicle or that you traded in a non-FCA vehicle.

Thanks everyone!

@MG99; I have gone with King, Fox, and Icon on past few builds but this time I was intrigued by the new Falcon 2.25" SPORT TOW/HAUL SHOCK LEVELING SYSTEM specific for the Rebel as it comes with monotube front shocks, extended length bumper stops, and rear shocks with piggyback reservoirs. I will probably lose my rear wheel well liners to fit the rear shocks. The front will raised at 2.25-inches over the existing Rebel height but the rear will remain the same so should be almost dead level. Once I get the topper installed, I will have to see how much rear sag I will get (if any) and address afterwards.

@Patsy1099; thank you, I will look into if I qualify!

This guy Kid Richmond has been putting out some good and informative videos about the TeraFlex/Falcon shocks on his Rebel. Here’s a link to the first video in a multipart series he’s doing.

Yes! I have been following some of his videos; fantastic photographer/videographer too. I really appreciate the fact that he is doing exactly what I like to do with my builds; making them aesthetically pleasing, functional, and fun without going overboard.
