B&W Stow & Tow Hitch

I'm looking at a B&W Stow & Tow hitch for my truck. I currently only pull a boat trailer that requires a 2" ball.

The B&W is a multi ball hitch that can have either 2 or 3 balls on it. Available combinations are 2" & 2 5/16", 1 7/8" & 2", or 1 7/8", 2" and 2 5/16". Originally I was thinking about the 3 ball configuration for versatility but would anything requiring 2 5/16" be too heavy for a stock 1500 anyway?

Not really, I have a 16' dual axle Carry-On for my ATV's that has a 2-5/16" hitch
It has a GVW of 7000lbs , Payload of 4500lbs and empty 2400.
That being said, with the pair of ATV's and other junk in there I'm probably around only 3500lbs all in, so does it need a 2 5/16" ? No, but that's what it come with because it can do 7k total. Heck my son in law has a 12' single axle and it has a 2 5/16

I have the 2" and 2 5/16" combination B&W hitch and use the 2" for my jetski and other boast and I use the 2 5/16" for a 14,000lbs GVW flatbed trailer. I've never had a need for 1 7/8" ball.

Flash ball mount has the same , made out aluminum, but is cheaper. I have a flash solid steel that is 20,000 lbs rated . Made in the USA

I have the three ball setup on my 1500, fine I use the 2 inch the majority of time, I have used the 2 5/16 for a 7000 lb trailer, actually have never used the 1 7/8th though I once had a small boat trailer that had it. Like the versality of all three - I do love the hitch, looks good and height adjustable.

I put a B&W Tow & Stow Tri-Ball on my 2500 but even in the stowed position it sets off my backup cam alarm. I don't understand why since a regular 2" drop ball mount DOES NOT set off the backup alarm and it sticks out a least 6 inches farther than the Tow & Stow when in the stow position. I'm going to try a Reese Towpower Tri-ball with step and see how it acts. If it doesn't set of the backup alarm when stowed I will try to return the B&W.

I wonder if a sensor is misaligned, I have the sensors on my 1500 and the B&W does not set them off, regardless if I have the balls stored under the bumper or fully extended and ready for a trailer. My hitch ball height positioning is about half way up the B&W hitch and I usually have the 2" ball ready, I'll have to stick it all the way to the top of the hitch or at max height and see if that may cause an issue.

Wish I knew if there was a way to adjust the cam up just a tad without breaking something. I think it might be too low since I can see my license plate and the entire bumper.
