Real use case / summary after installing it & running the B&M pan for the last 5,500 miles: it might be the best $350 for any aftermarket item I've ever spent. My trans temps are running 15-30 degrees cooler than the OEM pan. That isn't a typo. My rig is a 2022 Rebel ecodiesel and, prior to install of the B&M pan, once getting to operating temps, both around town or on back roads and on the highway and at highway speeds on long road trips (generally flat, with some travel in the Appalachian mountains), with the OEM pan and fluid I was logging trans temps in the 203-212 degree range depending on type of road/driving, ambient weather conditions, etc. Post-install, I'm in the 183-188 range upon getting to operating temp in those same driving conditions as with the OEM pan & don't think I've ever seen temps hit even 190 degrees. No leaks with the gasket & with the drain & fill plugs, super easy for future drain & fills. To be fair, 2 caveats: a) I've also replaced the OEM fluid with AMSOIL's 'Signature Series' ATF over the course of 2 drops and drains (rough math says I'm now running 90%< AMSOIL ATF & <10% of the OEM fluid in the entire unit... so the change in ATF is an unknown variable that may (or may not) be contributing to the far-cooler running temps-- I doubt it, but want to be transparent & thorough as possible when I post things on these very helpful fora and b) I haven't towed 11k with it in the Rockies, so can't speak to every single use case / condition... but semi-regularly I am at max or near-max payload & still have never seen trans temps reach 190. 15-30 degrees cooler at operating temperatures is the best $350 I've spent on my rig to date. I considered the PPE pan, but the cost is approximately the same and a) the PPE pan holds less fluid than the B&M pan and b) with the PPE pan, you must buy a custom transmission filter made by... PPE. With the B&M pan, you use the OEM filter. PPE seems to get a lot more love in the forums, but I've been super-impressed with the B&M pan. Have no basis for comparison in running a transmission cooler as to which is better.
