I have a 2025 Ram 1500 limited, 1200 miles.
Getting a message that running boards not operating.
Driver side works, passenger side doesn't when either door is opened.
Any thoughts??
Thanks,
PaulB

Guess you need to go to the dealer. Probably a bad motor or sensor.

Take it in since you're under warranty. For me though I'd put my eye on it, wiggle some wires, hit things with a hammer. Could simply be a loose connection or something jammed in the mechanism

I did kick it!
I took it in on some other issues, intermittent, and they won't look at it unless it's broke!! Since riverside works system hasn't failed totally yet.
Is there a fuse or relay I could check after I wiggle stuff?

No fuse or relay as they are ontrolled by your BCM. If they work one day and not the next, I suspect a lose connection somewhere.

Thanks, made appt with dealer for Monday.
Wiggled wires near motor for running boards and nothing.

Also, check the connection on the control module. It's in your footwell left of the steering column.

How will I know which connection in the footwear?

Thanks for the video.
Took to dealer, under warranty.
They found code B1DB3-13, right power step motor circuit open.
They found a damaged pin in the power step motor connector. Further inspection found the power step wiring harness has an open circuit and has terminal fretting.
OK, everything works now. But, the way it worked has changed, meaning it NEVER worked right!!!
Now the running board deploys upon opening the door, before all you had to do was approach the truck and they would deploy, then open door.
At any rate all is well now.
