I’ve had my 2019 Rebel 1500 for a little over a year and since day one it had the auto parking brake (engage when shifted into park, disengage when buckled and shifting into drive or reverse). About 2 weeks ago I had the truck into the dealer for the ABS module recall (recall: 75B - ABS). Ever since I picked the truck up I do not have auto parking break. Event the options in the radio are gone and I've gone in with OBDAlpha and can’t find any settings for it.
Any one else experience this?

I just posted something similar where my forward collision warning setting is gone. Can you share a picture of your auto parking setting? I'd like to see if mine is similar. Maybe a recent uconnect update?

Interesting. I wonder if they removed it since it had caused countless problems. I even had the issue and would never use the parking brake unless absolutely necessary which is extremely rare for most of us.

That’s just it the settings are completely gone from the radio and in OBD alpha. I haven’t done any Uconnect updates mine came with the 8” screen and I’ve upgraded to uconnect 5. so it doesn’t get updates automatically anymore. I had the auto parking break since the uconnect 5 install about 6 months ago. The only change to the truck has been the recall for ABS reprogram.

I hate that the parking break on my RAM 1500 comes on if you try to drive at 1 or 2 MPH with the door open. Also, I was at a presentation in college where one of the speakers was a former CIA officer who talked about how he had to roll out of a moving car under an underpass as to escape without being seen by the counterintelligence people following him. I guess that maneuver wouldn't be possible these days. Perhaps we can say unless RAM makes that "feature" optional, they are being unpatriotic

I'm driving a rental car right now while my truck is in the shop, and it's also very annoying when it emergency brakes when I'm backing in to a parking space. The first time it happened I thought I ran something over because of how horrible it felt and sounded.

Some "features" are just not worth it, or should at least have an option to disable if not required by law.

I'll have the ABS recall done soon, will not miss it if this "feature" goes away.

I'm not someone who drives without a seatbelt, but there was a day when I needed to back up the truck a few feet in the driveway, and needed to do so ASAP. The damn seatbelt nanny slowed me down. Other than this, I liked the feature and would not have turned it back off except for this unnecessary nanny.

just looked my vin up and no recall for me it had a wiper nut recall? and a radio reprogram in 2020 but nothing since......

I checked mine, looks like I still have the auto park brake option with the latest uconnect.
