Anyone stay with their “ stock “ 18” tire size but with a more aggressive tire ?

^^^^. Looks like we have a winner, correct ?

Hi all, my first real post on the forum. I am trying to decide between 275/65 or 275/70 on the stock 18" wheels. I have been reading through threads the past 2 days but most threads are for switching to 35's.

I am more concerned about a loss of power, the truck feels pretty quick on the stock tire. I have the 3.21 rear end, does anyone have an example of if they did/did not feel a difference?

That I can’t answer as I have 275/70 but 3.92 gears. I can’t imagine for the life of me that your truck won’t be just fine pulling power wise though. :)

I just put 275 70 on today. Didn't notice much difference. Stepped my pedal commander up 1 step though when I left the tire shop. So far so good.

That’s good to hear, just ordered some cooper at3s in 275/70!

I have 285/75-18s on mine with 3.21. These tires are heavier and 8% larger than stock .so they do affect performance....how much is not really measureable in my world. The truch has plenty of power for a daily driver. The low first gear in the 8 speed really covers up the loss of low end from the tires and for me, the extra ground clearance is worth the small loss in performance.

One added bonus to me is the taller tires tend to smooth out the take off from stopped. It takes much less effort to drive the truck smmothly with the larger tires versus the stock size.

These are my impressions however, and I'm certain there are others who might feel differently.

Thanks for posting these pictures! Think I’m gonna go back to my 18 inch wheels with 275/70R18’s. Will probably go with some Bilstein shocks to level it out.

If I didn’t have this BDS I would have stayed with that set up.

Got the tires installed and a Readylift 2” leveling kit with UCAs.

hey man does your truck have any spacer in the back ? Or just 2” front ?
I was wondering if I should add 1” to the back I have the 2.5 up front ,, thanks ,.

I didn’t realize they had those in 275/65 fitment. :)

Given all that's been going on the past several weeks and working in the grocery industry, everything has been nuts so I'm very late to post this, BUT... 2" Readylift w/ UCA's and Cooper 275's on stock 18's. Hoping to be able to get out in the mountains sooner than later! #shelter-in-place is rough!1585964300735.jpeg

Just 2” in the front. 1” in the back would give you a noticeable rake still I think.
