I am getting really tired of the lag and jerkiness that comes with it. I wish I could do away with Etorque altogether, but the trucks paid off, and it's all mine...warts and all. Since the 2022+ Etorque is a slightly different system than the previous generation, I am only interested in hearing from folks who have the Pedal Monster for those. For those who have it, has it helped at all?

Thanks!

Just curious, what makes you think it is different? Only the 2025+ are different from the 2019 to 2024.

I believe they made some changes that turned the engine off as it was rolling to a stop. From my test drives, there also seems to be less lag between the turn-off and turn-on with the 2022- being better. I test-drove several earlier models, and there was a noticeable difference. I do not have the info readily available, but there is some documentation outlining the differences.

I have the pedal monster on my 22. Definitely a huge improvement to get rid of lag for my 3.6l with 35s. I like the safety features over the previous brand I had that almost got me in an accident.

No, it doesn't turn off rolling to a stop at all. There was a software update that can be done on the older vehicles to bring them to the version on the newest ones. Will not effect any pedal kit or the Pulsar.

Thank you. That's encouraging. I am really hoping to hear the same reports from 5.7 e torque owners as well!

Not sure I understand? The update won't impact pedal monsters? Mine certainly does turn off prior to coming to a full stop. It's quite annoying

You don't understand how the pedal monster or others like it work then. They sit in between the pedal and the harness that connects to the pedal. It amplifies the signal from the pedal to trick the pcm into thinking you pressed the pedal harder than you did. So it doesn't matter how any of the other system, like auto start stop, work. It just cares about the pressing of the pedal.

Ahhh, no, I didn't understand what you wrote. I DO understand how a Pedal Monster and the like work and know it will not impact the ETorque system. Adding info about the update was confusing to me as to what you meant or why you were including it. I am interested in hearing from users with both systems and if it fixes the lag. Its all good though. I think the miscommunication is resolved!

I added the update because what you describe about it shutting off before a complete stop means it's broken and needs fixed. That'd not how should work. It waits until you are stopped and then shuts off about a second or less after full stop. You need to get the TSB update done.

Hmm...Well, I have had it in a few times specifically for that issue and no update so I am interested now! It has worked that way since it was new, and while I cannot find it now, Ram did put out a video if recollection serves, that described the turning off while rolling to a stop as intentional. What year is yours and do you happen to have any additional information regarding the update? Like when did it come out..etc?

Mine is a 2020 model. I've never seen nor heard of this functioning intentionally. They won't just update the software unless you tell them you are having an issue. A TSB isn't a recall; it's optional. There were others having the issue while going through a roundabout. If that's intentional, then it's dangerous.

I wouldn't think the pedal monster would fix it because you have taken your foot off the accelerator and put it on the brake. The pedal monster wouldn't be reading any input anymore.

I need to bring it in for the recall and will mention it again. Several threads in this forum from those with 2022+ complaining of the same issues. Ram updated something and got 1 mpg better in city driving if you compare 2021 to 2022.

The lag I am feeling is with the engine running but it does not seem to be under power...almost like it is coasting. The engine does not have to be off either. Just slow to get going and then when it does it is kinda jerky. The dealership says everything is fine. :censored:

EDIT...they did fix the jumping forward when restarting with an update in 2022. That was huge since when pulling into a parking space it would feel like you were going to hit the car in front of you.

The pedal monster will help the lag for sure. I had the pedal commander and it was nice. I upgraded to the Pulsar and now the truck drives like it should. More real power and no lag. But it's more expensive than the pedal enhancers. I got it for cheap from another member.

How long have you been running the pulsar? They were riddled with problems in the jeep world but like any other addict I keep looking at them

3 years now. The only issue I had was when I did an update and bricked it. But they replaced it for free. Not going to update it because it just works.

@Dewey, I saw in your signature that you are running a Pedal Commander. Do you have any comments on how it works with Etorque and the lag?

Read this about my experience with pedal commander. I now have the banks pedal monster and I highly recommend it over the pedal commander.

For sure. I was more looking for how a device such as this worked with the perceived lag. I think if I did go this route I would get the Banks product.
