Any Ridetech users here?

Really was hoping this thread would end with feedback on the full Ridetech kit. $3500 is a lot of loot for me to not know a little more in advance. Now if Ridetech wanted to offer me a discount to install the full front/back kit and post a review.... I'm your guy. Just picked up a 2020 Laramie Sport that needs a 2/4 drop. Seems like it's either $1200 for a typical kit or triple the cost with a premium product from Ridetech.

Just spend the money and do it right once, if you can afford it. I highly doubt you will be disappointed. Yes, RideTech is a premium product and you get what you pay for. None of the other kits offer you ride height adjustment and rebound adjustment. Premium = premium ride over so-so ride. If you can’t afford it, or would just rather not spend the money, go the cheaper route and you still get the lowered look you want. Then you have money left for more mods.

I’m about to order the rear to match the front ridetech on mine! I’m done fighting my current setup and want a matched setup. I really hope this is the right decision. I’ve been impressed with the ridetech fronts.

Gonna be a chore as I’ll have to remove the IHC cut kit, reweld factory uppers on and then trim bottom of upper link mount before installing ridetech’s kit. 🤷‍♂️

I've got street rods with aluminum bodied shocks. I wonder how the long term hold up is on exposure to salt and road grime. My hobby stuff isn't subjected to the rigor of a daily driver. How's your stuff holding up? I'm in central illinois so the salt is a disease here in winter. Steel or aluminum... it's nasty.

I'm in Texas...what is this salt you speak of??? LOL

Seriously, the front ridetech stuff was only on for two months so I can't speak to any longevity of the parts.

My rear kit should deliver today so hopefully I'll have a good update tomorrow for yall. At least I'll have spring rates and shock valving that are part of the same kit and are hopefully paired well together.

If you are still doing a 2/4 drop, why remove the IHC cut kit?

The bracketry that comes with ridetech kit is built slightly different. It utilizes the top factory upper that we cut off to attach & brace their brackets too. Trust me, I’d prefer not to do the extra work, I’m over this whole project tbh lol.

Finally got the factory upper brackets welded back on and got the ridetech rear installed. So I now have ridetech coilovers front and rear. The ride is smooth but firm…kinda like a BMW. My only real complaint is it bottoms out in the rear on larger dips in the road. Keep in mind I live in a construction area and crappy FM roads. It also sits about 1” higher than I’d prefer. 35” fender to ground rear and 34.5” front. Was really hoping for 34” all the way around. The brackets are a lot better quality and heavier duty than the IHC brackets imo. I haven’t towed my boat yet…will try that tomorrow but have a feeling I’ll have to crawl under and adjust the height to keep it from bottoming on everything. That’s the downside to coilovers vs air ride…no instant adjustment.

Better ride quality than your last setup?

You might also try increasing the rebound adjuster a little, this will slow down the “bounce” and may decrease bottoming.

Well…hooked up my 20’ bass boat and truck dropped 2.5” in the rear. Went about half a mile down the road and hit bumpstop hard multiple times. I messaged ridetech and they said “Some of our testing during development was to ensure the payload capacity was not affected versus stock setup. I cannot confirm 100% since we did not do any trailer testing”

Did you try raising the rebound adjuster a few clicks?

The other thing I'm curious, did the kit come with new rear bumpstops, or do they recommend cutting OEM down? I would occasionally bottom out when I had the Maxtrac 2" reverse level coils in, but never cut the bumpstops.

I did everything exactly as they said in the instructions. They told me today I could buy some sumo springs!!! 😡

That’s really disappointing after spending $1850 plus tax on what should be a high quality product.

The ride quality is amazing with an empty truck, but as wife pointed out you just have a cute lowrider grocery getter now.

That’s crazy. Sorry you have had so many issues. I still just don’t understand why your truck would not work with the TG bags. There must be some kind of design change that Ram did that caused the incompatibility. So strange.

I still wonder if it has something to do with the QA1 shocks. Here’s my thought why.

1. QA1’s with TG bags = a uncontrollable bounce. Go over speed bump, front settles almost immediately, back bounces 3-4 times (enough to make me lol, literally).

2. Fast forward to Ridetech coilovers = same speed bump, front acts identical as before, but the back goes over and damn near immediately settles…I was so excited I almost pissed my pants…right up until I hooked up my boat and my happiness faded. 😭

At this point I’ve spent half my life savings on suspension and all I’ve learned is that the factory rode like a caddy but of course not very sporty feeling and looked stupid with that rake. The ridetech kit is amazing balance between ride quality and sporty feel, but can’t tow, the QA1/airbag setup just didn’t mesh with each other. Been a long project and I’m pretty sure wife is over hearing me talk about it.

Yesterday I found a guy in Wylie that had a set of maxtrac 4” coils with those internal bags on facebook for $200 so I grabbed those and installed last night. Put 35 psi in em and had boat still hooked up so went for a test drive. Handled the boat and dips great, didn’t bottom out once. Will unhook boat and take tent off bed today and go for an empty test drive. Hoping this works.

3. Wish I could test the ridetech coilover shocks (coil removed) with the airbags and see what result that would give. I have this wierd feeling the QA1’s are a lot of the issue with the airbag bounce.

I tend to agree about the QA1’s. I think if you had the TG bags and RT adjustable shocks, you’d be happy. I’m happy with mine, though I have to admit, I haven’t towed anything heavy yet. I don’t expect to have any issues though.

@CHeYeNNe71 the ridetech kit comes with new bumpstops. I have them set perfectly to where they stop the upper control arms before hitting the frame.
