Any ideas what this is in my 1500 Limited?

While looking for a mounting spot for my RC 20" LED light bar switch, I came upon this panel on the lower left of the steering wheel, just below the parking brake lever... Any idea what this is, and what the orange nylon pull does? I pulled it but didn't notice anything different... also didn't find any mention of it in the manual...

It's a manual release of your e-brake if the small electric switch fails.

Actually that is the lever to manually get the truck out of gear..... it's in the owners manual.

You are correct. I knew it was to manually disengage something pg 471 of the manual.

Ha the only reason I know is because I had to use it!
