I recently purchased a 2019 gen 5 1500 from a private party and it had a dead battery. It was a repo and it needed a title so we spent several months working with the tow company to get this thing squared away.

Finally we get the title and throw a battery in it and the computer threw every code in the book. I took it to a local shop and had the computer totally reset and erased all the codes.

He told me the only thing remaining for the check engine light is this lost communication with ags code (his computer says it’s the fin that drops down that’s the issue)

The problem I’m seeming to have is that I have no audio in the front left or right channels. I’ve looked and looked online for help, but this truck has so many different trim levels and radio options that nothing seems to be consistent.

I’ve spoken to uconnect and they walked me through a soft reset and suggested I need to update the firmware at the dealer.

I checked the continuity in the speaker wires at the door hoping it was water damage but there’s nothing there. I really don’t want to pull the seat out and check the amp or pull the radio without knowing for sure what the problem is because I don’t want to risk breaking any clips.

I’ve also read that the noise canceling mics could mute the front audio but I don’t think I have that feature in this truck. There’s no vin decoder that specifies anything without a subscription. Also, this is an open circuit somewhere in the system.

I called the dealer and they want $209/hr for diagnostics with no guarantee it’ll be less than that.

I guess, my question is, has anyone seen this happen and was this amp or head unit related? If it was did you have to have them re-programmed when replaced? Or was it simply a software issue that the dealer was able to correct? I just don’t want to blindly throw money at this without having any research behind it. I just can’t find anything related to this issue! I’m just at a total loss of where to begin… any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
