Don't get me wrong... some rap can be good. It's just few and far between these days. I still listen to old school sometimes. I realize how toxic rap music is everytime I see a woman singing along to a song talking about abusing women. Our youth needs help. Luckily my kids kids listen to everything, but there friends look at me crazy when I pull up in the plum crazy widebody listening to some kind of metal... I think they are expecting Kodak wack, young Wayne, or Lil hibbitty jibitty... not today junior. Hahaha.
He's got a pretty dope track about clothes and man purses. I suggest you take a listen... its inspiring.Oh man, I LOVE Lil Hibbitty Jibitty!!

I do love early Metallica, black sabbath, iron maiden, judas priest, motorhead, pantera, etc... Most people hate me for it, but I can say without an ounce of ********... I despise AC/DC post Bon Scott!
One of my favorite favorite things about metalcore is the clean vocals going into screaming. This is one of my top five songs of all time.FIFY.
Playlist and collection is varied from the 60's to current, but I'm a 70's teen kid so mostly all the greats from that era, some earlier, some later.
Metalcore is too much like screamo for me for the most part unless it has clean vocals. I think I recognize 2 or 3 bands looking at a top 100 Metalcore list. Listen to a fair amount of punk and ska punk (thanks to my eldest son.
About to take a listeni like alot of music but if i was stuck on a island and could only have 1 thing to listen to it would be
Fates Warning- A Pleasant Shade of Gray
Just a suggestion on something new... 156 does metalcore a little different than most and they have a couple different sounds, but I'm a lyrics person and this song has relatable lyrics to me.I've always been labeled as weird when it comes to music. I have a usb stick in the truck with songs that come from almost every corner of the world. Lot of stuff from before 2010's, the newer stuff is still on my laptop waiting to get copied over. I'm always down to listen to something new![]()
Not bad, the sound reminds me a little of KatatoniaJust a suggestion on something new... 156 does metalcore a little different than most and they have a couple different sounds, but I'm a lyrics person and this song has relatable lyrics to me.
it's 90's prog rock.About to take a listen
it's 90's prog rock.
YES was my first concert i've seen rush, metallica, meggadeath, slayer, testament, motley crue, van hargar, dokken, tesla the allman brothers and more i even saw Stevie ray. the top 3 best shows were fates, Stevie, rush in that order. and yes fates is prog metal like dream theaterIMHO More Prog metal than classic Prog Rock, but I'd listen to this along with Dwellers, All them Witches, etc. (though they're both are a bit more blues/psych rock)
Prog Rock (to me) is Yes, Pink Floyd, Rush...(probably my favorite band of all time)

I had never heard Fates until just listening to it now. I agree it's prog. It's very Dream Theater-ish. The music sounds very technical like Dream Theater with different vocals. From my limited listening to A Pleasant Shade of Grey, I think I prefer Dream Theater.it's 90's prog rock.
