Ok dudes. Sadly, Bridgestone quit making the Alenza HL + in the 18” tire size. I’ve ran these on my Rams for years with great performance and 60-70k miles per set.

The extent of my off road use is gravel boat ramps and wet grass so I need something highway focused that does well in light to medium snow and has great wet weather performance.

Super bummed I have to start the research process again. The tire that’s looks to be the replacement for the Alenza doesn’t seem to have as good of reviews. I’d also prefer something that’s offered in white letter flavors.

Surprisingly The bargain Goodyears that came with it are looking to be getting 55-60k out of the set. All of the Goodyears I’ve had on previous models (all with 20” wheels) were awful all around.

Thanks !

I'm in a similar situation. I've always liked the Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S but it seems they (Cooper) are migrating away from outlined white letters. If you can find a set of those, I'd highly recommend. Slightly more aggressive than the Michelin that came on my truck but still quiet and wouldn't consider to be knobby at all.

Thanks. Has a set of those on a Dakota way back and they were great. Little more aggressive than what I’m looking for (truck returns great mileage) so I’m looking to stay with something that’s got some eco focus on it.

For that use case probably can't do too much better than Michelin Defender M/S.
They look like Grandpa tires though, if that matters.

For a slightly more aggressive look in the same class, the Yokohama Geolander GO018 and Bridgestone Dueler Revo3 might be good looks too.

I've run all the above with super positive results.

Yeah, the MS is always a great choice. My buddy has that on his 16 eco d and they have worn well so far. I don’t think they make them in white letter flavor though.

Thanks for the insight.

The Firestones I have have been well behaved quiet running tires. They still have a bit of tread left at 38k. They will reach over 45k, probably 50. It just depends on the time of year. If we are headed to January and they are getting close, I will scrap them for fresh tread. They did good in moderate snow last year and have performed well in the rain.

These are 35s too.

If you want wet performance you want the Continental TerrainContact. I haven't driven them in wintery conditions living in the south but they were phenomenal in wet conditions. Even comes in OWL

Also, you liked the Dueler Alenza HL? That's the stock tire that came on my Ram. It was terrible especially in the wet. You'll be shocked what you've been missing.

HL Alenza Plus is a different tire. They look very similar but I suspect they have a different build or compound with the same tread.

I’ve been looking at those continentals. Great looking tires.

Only thing that kept me from those Conti's was Tire Rack's very poor ratings for snow. No bueno in the Rocky Mountains.

They are excellent. I love the look and they hang over the rim just slightly for some protection. My neighbor bought a set to replace his Michelin Defender L/X on his F150 that had worn down after seeing mine and he's quite happy with them as well.

You must be looking at a different tire. Tire rack testing reported:

Weird. Not sure what changes in a year, but this is the review I’m referring to, where they panned it’s snow performance.
And which led me to buy the Revo3’s despite their lack of 3msf rating.

That's odd. If you go though the Bridgestone tire to reviews, it's a test comparison from 2018 using an F150 4x4 and if you go through the Continental it's a 2022 test comparison with a Ford Explorer ST. Wonder if the tire was updated between 2018 and 2022 or if they forgot to use the 4x4?

Ya something is up with their site. Indeed, I couldn't find the review I was posting by searching for the Conti's though I knew it to exist. But I could when I searched the Revos??

I'm definitely up for trying the Contis next time around if I can validate that some material change occurred to make them better in snow. That's important where I am.
