Have you installed Android auto on your Note 8? Do that through the Play Store then connect it to one of the connected USB ports and launch Android Auto on the 12".
It should walk you through the rest.
What did you need to do because I'm having the same issue with my truck? I connect my phone and it tries to connect to android auto and I can see the logo on my uconnect for a few seconds then it disappears and gives an error message. I've used the oem cable and also an aftermarket hi quality AT&T cable with no luck.
Now if only it would read received text messages. I can send them successfully but when I receive a text and try to "listen" to it, it just shows the Android Auto processing and never reads it.
