Today, our 2025 Rebel would not start. With my foot on the brake and pressing the start button, the starter spun, but it was not cranking the engine. After three attempts, I let the starter rest and checked under the hood for any obvious cause, but saw nothing unusual. I tried three more times before calling for a tow truck. After waiting about 10 to 15 minutes I decided to try again, and the engine cranked over and started. Puzzled, but happy the engine started, I cancelled the tow truck. I had driven the truck only 4 to 5 miles from home, and although I did not have the start/stop feature deactivated during the trip, I had made only two short stops at stop signs in which the engine did not turn off. Has anyone else experienced anything similar with the SST engine, or have any idea what may have caused this? I am bringing the vehicle in for an inspection ASAP.
Thanks!

If the starter spins but doesn't engage the flywheel that used to mean solenoid issues. Not sure on this engine.

I agree with you. I think it is the solenoid as well. The truck only has 4600 miles on it, and I am a bit upset that its having an issue like this already.

The Bendix is not kicking the starter gear forward to engage the flywheel.
Not sure a Bendix is used anymore.
But I think you're saying the same as me. That the starter solenoid sounds like the culprit.
