Yesterday I was out running some errands and I went to travel link to look at the weather map. It was taking forever to load - not uncommon - and I parked and shut the truck off before it finished. When I got back in and started the truck, the uconnect apps page was displaying. Huh. Oh, well, try the weather map again. Nope. And again shut off the truck. Next restart, apps page showing again. I decided if it is in the process of something when the power goes off, that's where it defaults.
Then I turned on the radio. And no sound. Switched stations. No sound. Dialed the volume up and down, no sound. But the display shows volume going up and down. Tried the Flash drive. Same. Turned the whole thing off and gave it a rest and then tried again. Still dead. This is not what I need. But then I remembered something like this happening a long time ago. So I ignored it and went home. And an hour or two later I got back in and started it and the sound system was working fine. Working fine today, too.
So my observation is this: if uConnect is busy when the ignition is shut off, it takes a long time to reset itself. So don't shut it off if things are working or you will have unnecessary stress.
