Amp Research Bed Step

Just did yesterday. Took under two hours with my Nissan tech buddy. Pretty easy and I love them

Mopar Bed Step 82215289AF.

You can't notice the Mopar step either, except the foot press tab that barely sticks out to extend it. Imo the Mopar looks cleaner than the AMP step. Both are pricey (paid $330 after tax and shipping). Mopar's packaging is atrocious, but the step is heavy duty so luckily it did not sustain any damage during transit.

Oops. I thought we were talking about power running boards. Disregard!!

Has anyone compared the AMP step vs. the Mopar? Is there any difference? Looks like maybe the AMP one has a larger footpad? Or maybe one drops down further than the other?

I put the AMP on this week. Love it! Comparing the two i think the Mopar is a much cleaner look but slightly smaller tread area. I believe the AMP comes out slighty lower as well. AMP was $260, quick to order, easy to install, sure footed and make getting onto the tailgate a breeze with just enough help on the way back down. I guess it come down to looks, price, availability and function. AMP worked out good for me.

Nuts. I liked the Amp 70.00 more but seeing that it doesn't tuck up better changes everything. Though at 330.00 I'm not all that crazy about the more visually appealing Mopar unit either. Its a step, seriously.

installed on my truck too. my truck build had an integrated nut in the frame for angle bracket so screw was wrong length (too short) . amp support replied to me within one day and over nighted the bolt to me. great support from AMP.

Yep. RAM added the welded nut on the frame part way through the year. Youll need an M8 bolt at least 44mm long. Install it straight through the welded nut (a spacer so to speak) and sincth it up with the M8 nut provided by amp. Piece o cake.

Could you post some pics of your install. I can't figure out how to install the bracket. Maybe it's just the wrong piece ...
