Ambient lighting in the dash

I noticed the ambient light on the left side of the gauge cluster was barely noticeable compared to the one on the right. So I pulled the HVAC vent and checked. The top of the LED module case has a post and it clips in. The post and top of the case is melted for some reason. Anyone come across this before?

Ive been wondering why they removed ambient light in the dash on the 2021s. I wonder if this is why?

Yea pretty sad My 2021 Laramie doesn't have ambient lighting in the Dash.

I don’t have any ambiance lighting in my 2020 sport. Im wondering if a 12v rgb ledstrip can do this trick..
