Hey all,
I have a 2019 1500 Laremie that I purchased March of '25 from a toyota dealership. Love my truck, but I am constantly haveing problems with my ambient air temperature sensor going out.
Purchased the truck with 91K miles, and shortly after, I noticed that when running my AC, that it would randomly start getting super humid in the cab, and then it would go away after a little while.
I ended up replacing the driver side mirror under warranty from the dealership because it wasn't clocking correctly. Went from the power mirror that I have to fold by hand to the one that folds in by the button on the door.

Not too long after this, I changed the settings on my dash and added the outside temp to it. this is where i noticed things getting weird. One morning driveing to work, I noticed it started getting muggy in the cab, and my windsheild started to fog up. looked down at my dash, and my outside temp was 32 degrees farenheight in the summer. Didn't think anything of it being that it corrected itself shorlt after. Next time it did this, it dropped to -32 in August. and then dashes out. Mind you, I live in North Georgia. This time it brings up a CEL basically saying thart the temp sensor is bad.
This go around, I report it back to the dealrship, and i bring it in, after about a week or so in the shop, they say that my humidty sensor is bad, along with the ambient air temp sensor. They order the parts and install them.
Sweet, problem solved.
Little while longer goes by again, and the problem starts to pop up again, and this go around they say that a pin was loose causing the problem.
Again, sweet. The problem is fixed again, up until the past few weeks.
Fast forward to just a few weeks ago, and all the probelms start popping back up, CEL, temps down to -30, along with the dashes again.
Take it back to the Yota dealer, and they say het we're going to replace the mirror again, along with the sensor and hope for the best. Well, they replace them, and the same exact issue. They're at a loss. So, they send me to the Ram dealer down the street.

Drop it off with them, give them the history of the truck and leave it for a few days. The lady calls me and says "hey, the tech found the issue with your truck. Turns out the previous owner had an aftermarket windsheid installed and they never put the rain sensor back in. We've got a MOPAR windsheild and a new sensor on the way".
SWEEt! I'm finally going to get my truck back and it'll be right!
Wrong..... I picked it up last Monday, January 12th. Noticed when I got in, it was still about 8 degrees higher than what it realy was. Whatever, no biggie. Got it home, and it sat up until Saturday the 17th. after about 30 minutes on the road, it felt warmer all of a sudded. Knowing all too well what th at ment, looked down, and sure enough my ambient temps were swinging. from 48 down to -32 and then dashes again.....

So, I'm at a loss at this point. I'm getting in touch with both dealers in the morning.
The only thing I can think of is something to do with the mirrors. Like I said I bought the truck with non-power folding mirrors, and then power folding were installed. Like I said though, I noticed issues before the changes were made. I've seen others with similar issues, but there has never been a definite fix from what I have seen.
