All ready for road salt.....

I spent an hour undercoating the new Ram with NHOil Back to Black. Pretty easy to use stuff. So far not a lick of rust except where the Vin was etched. Every hole underneath was sprayed, cab supports, cab channels, inside each rocker (love the easy rubber plugs), interior and exterior of frame, interior bed sides, Bed support channels. cab seams, Running board mounts, rear axle, Inside of rear bumper. 2 quarts did it all. I sprayed the active air dam actuator rod to see how well it protects as the winter progresses. Materials were $55/gallon so we did my sons Warlock after. No snow in the forecast but its coming soon.

Did you protect the brake rotors or were you just careful to not get any over spray on them?

Looks good. I like the black look. I do the same with fluid film. Hope it provides at least some additional protection from the salt and other treatments they put down.

I used my Fluid film gun/kit I bought in 2013 for my Leased Ram Express along with the cavity wand. It worked great. I warmed the NH oil to a little warmer than room temp (can soaked in hot water) before spraying. At room temp it was almost jelly like. When we finished it was 41 degrees outside, but it still sprayed fine.

Just did not spray on them. They are inboard enough to not get covered.

If you are interested, you can buy the 12oz aerosol cans of fluid film. They also sell a 2 ft extension wand that attached to the can that is helpful for reaching inside rocker panels, door frames, etc. 6-7 cans would probably do a decent job on the critical areas like rocker panels, bottoms of doors and inside wheel wells. You can pull off the taillights and get pretty good access to the rear wheel wells.

Yup. You can buy cans and do it as suggested. It’s about $10-12 per can and the wand is $15.00. You need about 1/2 gallon to do just about everything needed With a compressor and gun. Cans are an ok way to get it done It just may take a little more time.

I have found there are places that prep and spray Krown, in New England, a similar product for $149 complete.

I know, low taxes, cheap gas, jobs, warm weather, good looking (never mind), there’s a lot to like about TX and keep rubbing it in. Been there a few times and if I ever leave New England, it’s one of the States on my list. I have spent a week in Dallas for work and same at TCH with a 6 month old (not a pleasant visit) but the crawdads were amazing. Never minded flying through DFW either. Enjoy the salt free life (just do not drive in the beach) and dry counties. I do not know what I would do with my spare time not keeping my truck clean.

What does it look like under the spare tire? I might get some cans and spray away this weekend. Might have to pwetwash first after going offroad in some sand a couple weekends ago.

Inner rocker? Did you take off those clear oval stickers? There is a mopar rubber plug that fits those holes.
