Hello everyone, I’m installing airlift 1000 HD to my 2025 RAM 1500. I’ll be using the load controller but I wonder where do you mount the compressor and where do you tap for power?

Thanks

No one has the experience? I thought this airlift is very popular DIY

I have no experience with the airlift 1000 but have use several other load lifter bag sets on several truck. My last 2500 Ram I had the compressor and in cab gauge. Power comes from the main battery. They recommend mounting the compressor on the frame rail under the cab. I chose to mount mine in the bed of my truck on the sidewall, between the bull head and wheel well. I always had a cover on the bed so it kept it out of the weather.

All my other trucks I just use the air hoses to the bumper and manual filled. No compressor. The airlift 1000 is not a load lifter so you have to fill before you hook up. Depending on how much you hook and unhook, you might not need the compressor since you can’t adjust it up and down like the load lifter bags. I had a little craftsman 20 volt air compressor I would car with me.

I have used the airlift bags on two trucks and never bothered with the compressor though. I just run the air hoses and inflate from a single fill point either in my gas tank fill area or adjacent to the license plate. The bags will help a LOT depending on what you’re doing. Like woddy said I also keep a battery powered compressor in my truck to fill the bags and/or tires up as needed.

Fwiw I ended up installing heavy tow springs and, despite having the bags still in, i never use them. I prefer the way the springs handle my heavy as$ camper then how the bags did. But as a contrast the bags were gold when i pulled the same camper with my last truck.
