Air Suspension Limits

I did a quick search and didn’t find any air suspension threads that talked about this specifically but when traveling at highway speeds (not necessarily interstate speeds) and the truck is in aero mode, it won’t let me raise it to normal ride height.
Not that it’s an issue per se, just curious as to why normal ride height is not an allowed setting at any speed.

You can turn off aero mode in the UConnect settings, if you want, and that will keep you at normal height while you drive.

I am assuming its a safety thing (or, somewhat related, a lawyer thing). They probably don't want you in Off-road 2 mode, at the top of your suspension limits, doing crazy maneuvers at highway speeds. If someone rolled their truck in off-road 2 mode trying to take a corner at some stupid rate of speed, they'd probably try to sue Stellantis saying "its their fault for letting me do this unsafe thing!"

You can turn off aero mode in the UConnect settings, if you want, and that will keep you at normal height while you drive.

i like that it does it automatically so I don’t want to turn that off, so if it’s an auto or manual only with no override setting during auto then I’ll just leave it alone.

I would think it is Big Brother (or sister Camel a now) demanding aero for the HUGE fuel savings that will keep our planet alive u til she can force us to electric.

Side note: I think if you had the bed very full with payload, I'm not sure it would drop down to aero

Off-road 2 I think is 25 MPH or so? I cannot recall. Its probably in the manual as well.

For those of us with both the air suspension and ORG (or Rebels with air), we can run in OR1 at all speeds (since that is our “Normal”). You’re right about OR2 (simply called “Off Road” on our trucks) dropping at 25 mph.

Interesting then why the rest can’t do OR1 always either.

I can adjust mine to aero or normal at any speed unless I overload, and then it warns me that it is not functioning because if weight restriction. That is in order to not damage the system.

I don't remember the exact wording, it's been a few years since my last truck that had Air Suspension - but I think if you had a heavy load in the bed and tried to lower it, it might say something like, "ride height not permitted" something-something.

I know there's some sort of sensory array in there.

Every so so (back before the neighbors started feeding raccoons who walk up to the truck while I'm in it), I'd lay in the back of the truck looking up at the sky.
In the old truck, I could be about to doze off, thinking about whether or not I should ask that lady out.
Oh I dunno if she's right for me, well, what about if I -
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT And suddenly the compressor would kick on, bed moves up and down for what it thinks is "level", aaaaaaaand I'm wide awake.

Offroad 2 (same as Offroad in Rebel) is 19mph and below in my 2021 Rebel. Looks much better at Offroad height, too.
