I have a 2019 Ram Laramie Longhorn with 78K miles. My “Service Air Suspension Immediately” light came on about a year ago. I took my truck into Ram and they said the air suspension needed to be replaced for around $2,700. I really can’t afford that repair at the moment.
The air compressor still runs and can even sometimes noticeably raise and lower the truck before the service warning pops up. It does sound different than it did originally and will show an “air suspension cooling down” message when I try to adjust the height manually. I keep the height at normal ride level and the ride seems to be smooth, maybe a little less smooth than originally. Due to this seeming more like a cosmetic and comfort issue I’m okay with not spending the money for a costly new air compressor that still may not fully resolve the issue.
The main problem that I’m having is that the left side of the truck is significantly and noticeably lower than the right side. The top of the left wheel to bottom of wheel well is 2.25 inches lower in the front and 3.25 inches lower in the back compared to the right side. You can also see how the outside of the wheel wells don’t sit flush with the wheel on the left as the do on the right. This is still the case when gas tank is empty.
I’ve tried manually recalibrating air suspension by holding up/down buttons at the same time (which I don’t think my model even has) plus putting “alignment mode” on and off, pulling fuse, but nothings worked.
I am wondering if there is a less costly work around to level my truck instead of replacing the whole air suspension compressor/system? Thank you!!
