So I have a thread in the "exterior" section talking about how I've apparently suddenly lost half of both brake lights. All other functions are fine but only one section of brake light illuminate per side.

dont know yet if there is a fix or if there is anything I can check to fix that.

BUT, I'm not loving the idea of having to pay $1200+ for all new tails - especially since all the other functions are good.

if it comes down to it, are there any quality aftermarket tail lights out there that are actually worth it?1000012767.jpg

RECON makes a Great looking taillight. Also check Morimoto, I'm not sure if they do at moment. I would say it's more of a connection issue if BOTH sides are doing same thing.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Not sure where to start, or if there are any modules or whatever. But the way they "half-went-out" suddenly is pretty sus.

Just a random thought. These things are big computers now days and it's free. Disconnect the battery for a good hour to see if maybe it resets. Don't freak out if everything doesn't come back right away. Sometimes it can take up to 24 hours. It might be part of the canbus system issue.

Totally agree, buyer beware on any product regardless of origin. I've installed these on 3 different Rams, maybe got lucky but no issues so far-- again just another option and not endorsing any product or company ;)

I've been going back n forth, because I have the RED version and want the BLACK version, or just going RECON...damn decisions :ROFLMAO:

well I think i may have figured it out. I went old school, pulled the lights and tested the pins one by one with a 9v battery and well it looks like the dead panels are actually dead. I was able to activate all the functions (turn, tail, reverse and brake) and yes in fact only one of the two brake lights turned on. So that means it's not a computer, module, fuse etc. issue it's the actual lamp itself. And since they aren't serviceable I'll have to begin my journey on picking the best new tail lamps that are compatible with the OEM LED and blind spot systems.

Thanks for all the info thus far and I look forward to any other reccomendations.
